Thomas Sabo Watches are here at last!

We've been waiting for what seems like, er... (checks shiny new Thomas Sabo watch)... ages and here they are at last.

They don't disappoint either - they tie in a little with their jewellery (motifs of skulls crosses etc) but are on the whole a range all of their own that stand up to any range on the high street. We think that the most refreshing aspect of them is that they haven't tied them in with their hugely popular Thomas Sabo Charm Club range at all - which must have been a huge temptation for them. Thomas Sabo Watches are here for the long term!

The emphasis is on fashionable, chunky luxuriousness (if that's a word) with either a girlie or rocky edge. There's also a "Classic" range for those who want one watch for all occasions. If you want real luxury though, check out the ceramic watches in black or white. Yes, we know that they're expensive, but they're also REALLY nice. The girls here honestly and truthfully prefer them to the Chanel ceramic watches that are many times more expensive.

We love 'em, wear 'em and recommend 'em. Take a look and maybe purchase one on our fully secure, easy to use website. If you do, here's a tip - if you are in the UK, choose the free delivery option and we'll post it out to you with Royal Mail Special Delivery (Guaranteed by 1pm next working day) for our own peace of mind.

How to keep your finger.

The other week a customer bought a tungsten carbide ring from us. We ordered in the "correct" size, phoned him to say it was in a few days later and he came to collect it.

It was actually slightly to small for him. But he pushed it on, and in a typical Preston lad way said "it'll be right."

We knew that you can't cut through tungsten, and sure enough, about a week later we received a call from the good doctors at Preston accident and emergency asking us how they could remove it from his now swollen finger; he had spent a few unsuccessful hours at the local fire station where the firemen had broken 2 £30 hack saw blades trying to help him to no avail.

We told them (we really did, twice) to snap it in a vice. The interesting thing about tungsten is that it is very brittle and will shatter under pressure. Anyway, they chose to ignore our advice, and with him screaming in pain by this point, pleading with them to just cut his finger off, they wheeled him down to theatre for what turned out to be 2 hours of successful surgery. (He kept his finger by the way.)

He came in to see us a week or so later, and in typical Preston lad style, was totally decent about the whole thing - laughing the whole incident off as a good story to tell. We of course ordered in a new, slightly larger one which - unbelievably - he's still happily wearing now. We, er, didn't charge him for this one, by the way!

Anyway, we thought we'd post something on Youtube for the next doctor who potentially wouldn't be prepared to believe us to refer to - and hopefully afford someone some much quicker relief:

Lapponia Jewellery is 50 years old

This is, as Lapponia themselves tell us, their best ever selling piece. It's called "Mask of Gonda" and it's by their most famous designer, the brilliant Bjorn Weckstrom.

Did you know that Princess Leia, at the end of the first Star Wars film is wearing a Lapponia piece around her neck:

Come and see what other pieces we have in stock right now.

New Stuff We Like

We've come across a really exciting new range!

Lots of big blingy beautiful stuff like this, but also small solitaires and matching earrings etc.

Everything's in 9ct white or yellow gold and the stones are cubic zirconia, so none of them will break the banks. Prices start at around £50 up to, well the one above will probably be approaching £1000 - ahem - but that's an exception, not the rule.

They look so good that apparently staff at a DeBeers shop somewhere down South are bringing their customers to the local supplier to let them choose a dummy substitute for the huge rock they've just bought.

Keep your eyes peeled. We'll probably have some of it by this side of Christmas.

Watches coming soon

Keep your eyes peeled for the 60 new watches Thomas Sabo have created.

They form a completely new range for Sabo in a direction they haven't gone in before.

We've seen them all and have every single one on order - UK stockists should be getting them in October, and being an official partner we'll be among the first.

Post number one

Hi everyone.

Welcome to our first post. We'll try to use this blog to let you know of upcoming events, ranges, offers or whatever.

We started trading online a year or so ago and so far we love it. We love the fact that it's so easy to surprise our customers! People don't seem to expect much when they order online, so when we talk to them in a friendly manner, or their orders turn up the next day it's like a breath of fresh air to them!

It's not rocket science, though... treat everyone who walks into our shop or clicks on to our site in a way we'd like to be treated: if we wouldn't put up with it (and we're fussy) no-one else should have to.

Our latest news is that we've got Kit Heath's new range on site now. We've dealt with Kit and his fantastic company now for at least 15 years and have always been one of his biggest customers and fans. The new range is the most beautiful yet, and represents a more classy move up market for the company and it was this move for them that made our minds up: everyone should have a bit of Kit! Take a look, try it... if you don't like it send it back, but we're sure you'll keep it!

Thomas Sabo, of course, is going from strength to strength. The latest charms and Sterling Silver collections are available, and have proved as fresh, exciting and popular as ever. But we can't wait for the all new Watch collection coming this Autumn.

Keep your eyes peeled for these - we've seen them and they're fantastic.

Bye for now
